Hello beautiful Souls. My message today is about promises.
We all go through life with at least some measures of promises. Promises are defined as keeping to you word. Following through with an action or intent to do something without any exception to the rule. The most important promise to make, is the promise to your self!
In order to make a promise we have to follow through with actions and commitment. A promise can only make something or break something.
Promises require an immeasurable amount of trust and integrity. Very often we make promises in an environment where things are agreeable and pleasantly comfortable.
We do not necessarily know what the future holds or how circumstances might change. The point is, we make promises as it may seem fit and acceptable that time. I think of marriage vows, when we promise to be together forever in sickness and in health! When we make this promise more than often we are in good health and both in a loving head space.
Circumstances can alter our intentions and give rise to broken promises. People often burden their loved ones on their death bed to make promises that call on the emotional manipulation and can lead to enormous guilt, adversity and trauma to the ones left behind.
What is important is to establish whether the promise would still have served you best! If you are unable to keep your word then you will lose honour and reliability.
So, maybe we just don't promise when you're happy, don't promise when you are angry and don't promise to decide when you are sad. Is there ever a time to really make a promise?
Promises and commitment create a sense of hope and when you are able to honour this, you will create a promise of trust. Don't make promises you are unable to keep!
Sometimes it just better to try to offer to do your very best and find the promise will follow without being said.
