Name it! Call it! Use it !

Hello beautiful Souls. Today my message is about the process of mindfully identifying emotions, "name it to tame it’. So to speak.

All you need are a few words to describe emotions or sensations in the body indicating aligned signs of emotions: for example," I’m feeling nervous, my throat is feeling closed ,or I’m noticing tension and tightness in my shoulders, l am feeling so loved, or I am feeling extremely excited, etc"

This process of mental noting, or naming or identifying emotions, activates our prefrontal cortex, which helps to reduce the spikes in our limbic system part of the brain that cause our emotional reactivity and strengthens the pathways between the body and the cortex of the brain.

Emotional tuning gives us access to vital information about our feelings—both positive and negative—growing our capacity to consciously identify and learn from what we are feeling.”

When we look at “Resilience” this starts to reflect on how this shows up in your life. It is also mind over matter. We can feel afraid of we don't know what's happening inside of us.

To offer a more simple explanation we gather information so that we can create endurance and resources to help us navigate our emotional state. The answers help us to feel safer and that gives us direction to understand and cope with whatever is thrown at us.

When we use labels to identify an emotion we feel a little safer. Eg. I am suffering fatigue… that's why I am emotionally and physically tired.

Mind body connection is a very real thing.
